NIKE AIR ZOOM G.T. CUT 2 BREAKDOWN
2023-04-21

After Nike introduced the G.T. series back in 2021, the G.T. Cut model instantly became the main go-to in most player's rotation across the globe. Being named "the modern Kobe" - G.T. Cut was the first to receive a follow-up. But only a few know that the rest G.T. squad members: Run and Jump are also making a TOP list among big guys. And while we don't have any information on whether the G.T Run will continue to evolve, there's a close look at the upcoming Nike Air Zoom G.T. Jump 2.
The updated silhouette gets trimmed down to fit into the mid-cut category. More so, with the same swoosh logo treatment on the sides and similar external pads on the ankle collar, aesthetically, these do look more like an update to the G.T. Run model. Can this be a sign of Nike discontinuing the G.T. Run? We'll see.
Leaving behind the JumpWire and textile combination, the G.T. Jump 2 goes full-length knit mode in the upper. While the lacing system has also switched from the Flywire cord setup to a single reversed "V" strap for lateral containment.
Following its roots, the G.T. Jump 2 goes crazy in the cushion department but does that in a different fashion. The forefoot receives two individual Zoom Air pods much like in the Freak 4, but on steroids. As most of the changes happened in the back, where we can see an uncaged slab of REACT foam, making the full-length Air Zoom Strobel the only part staying from the original version.
The outsole also receives some updates, with alternative herringbone introducing a more complex pattern, but keeping it original with ripple lines in the heel area. Also, by implementing a bunch of flex zones and perforations on the bottoms, we can expect much better mobility and top performance from react foam.
The release date of the Nike Zoom G.T. Jump 2 is currently unknown.
