At the end of the 2021-22 NBA regular season, we’ll take a look at basketball shoe statistics. During this season players have chosen between many different basketball sneakers. We want to share the results with you.

First of all, we would like to introduce a basketball player who has changed sneakers the most times. Montrezl Harrell is the new Sneaker King of the NBA – he played with 52 different basketball shoes. Javonte Green is in second place with 21 different sneakers, and the third place belongs to DeAndre Bembry, who has changed his basketball kicks 20 times. P.J. Tucker and Rudy Gay changed their shoes the same number of times and shared fourth and fifth place with 18.

Another interesting statistic is the most popular sneakers in terms of how many players have played with them. At the top is the Nike Kobe 6 model - played by 145 different basketball players. In the second place there is another Kobe model – Nike Kobe V (136 times basketball players chose to play with them). In third place ranks Nike G.T. Cut model 104 different basketball players played with them. Fourth place went to Nike PG 5 with 93 times and Nike Kyrie Low 4 took fifth place with 91.

2021-22 NBA regular season players chose between 315 different models of basketball shoes. Compared to last season, players played only with 283 different sneakers. Most interestingly, the Nike PG 5 model has become the most popular choice this season and has surpassed the Nike Kobe 6 sneakers by one point! They both went face to face - Nike PG 5 has been chosen 1885 times, while Nike Kobe 6 was selected 1884 times! Nike Kobe V took third place – 1418 times NBA players chose to play with them.

 

TOP 10 MOST POPULAR SNEAKERS BY PLAYERS CHOICE 2021-22 Season:


Another important statistic is how much time players spend on NBA court with specific sneaker models during this season. This time Nike Kobe 6 model took first place! The most popular sneaker by minutes played was Nike Kobe 6 – players spend 43696 minutes wearing on the court (more than 728 hours!). While Nike PG 5 took second place - players played with them 37641 minutes, about 627 hours. And in the third place was Nike Air Zoom G.T. Cut model which were observed 30575 minutes in total (exactly 509 hours and 35 minutes!).

The next category that is one of the most interesting among basketball fans – points scored statistics. The most popular basketball shoes by points scored was Nike Kobe 6 model, players scored 20022 points wearing them on the court. In the second place was Nike PG 5 (players scored 16417 points with them) and in the third place was Nike Air Zoom G.T. Cut, which players scored 13698 points wearing them.

As we can see from previous statistics, Nike basketball sneakers led in almost all categories. So not surprising that the most popular brand Nike is far ahead compared to other companies, players chose them 17635 times. In the second place was adidas brand with 2699 times and the third place took Jordan brand (1954 times NBA players played with).
