The San Antonio Spurs are committing over $1 billion toward Project Marvel—including $500 million for a new downtown arena and $500 million for surrounding private development. They’ve also pledged $60 million in community incentives like education, small business support, and affordable ticket programs.⁠ The proposed site for the new arena is where the Institute of Texan Cultures now stands, with additional plans to expand the convention center, renovate the Alamodome, and build a land bridge over Highway 281. The team will stay at Frost Bank Center through 2032 while development phases roll out.⁠ Next steps include public meetings, a possible bond vote in November 2025, and tax collections starting in 2026. Construction on major pieces, including the new arena and Alamodome overhaul, will likely stretch into the 2030s.⁠
