The Seattle Storm will unveil a statue of Sue Bird outside Climate Pledge Arena on August 17, making her the first player to receive the honor from a WNBA franchise.⁠ ⁠ Bird spent her entire 21-season career with the Storm after being selected No. 1 overall in the 2002 WNBA Draft. She won four championships, made 13 All-Star appearances, and had her No. 10 jersey retired by the team last year.
