Trae Young has been named assistant general manager of the Oklahoma Sooners men’s basketball program—his alma mater—while also announcing a $1 million donation to support the team. In his new role, Young will help evaluate high school and transfer prospects, assist in negotiating player agreements within NCAA and conference rules, and contribute to fundraising efforts to strengthen the program. Earlier this month, Stephen Curry set a precedent by becoming the first active player in major U.S. professional sports to accept an administrative role with an NCAA team, joining Davidson College as assistant general manager. Love to see it.
